The Kickboxing Ireland junior national championships were held on Sunday March 22nd 2015. With clubs and associations attending from the 32 counties of Ireland it was always going to be an exciting event.
Robbie Walsh, Lee Gorman, Lauren Bradshaw, Eliza Bluma, Dayna Walsh, Hannah McGloughlin and Dylan Johnston.
Red Star Kickboxing had 7 fighters in attendance. All fighters are members of our Junior Squad fighting team. All of the divisions had double figures represented with nearly 40 juniors alone in the -47 junior girls.
After many weeks of preparations, the Red Star Junior Squad rose to the occasion. They all fought their hearts out, listened intently and performed diligently. In an amazing display of grit, skill and determination, all of our juniors medaled and got to stand on the illustrious podium.
A special mention should go to our three NEW national champions!
- Hannah McGloughlin won gold in the -47 younger cadet girls (Bronze last year)
- Dayna Walsh won gold in the -47 older cadet girls (second year in a row)
- Lauren Bradshaw won her 5th consecutive title at 70kg’s
Our silver medalists:
- Dylan Johnston won silver in the -52 older cadet boys (second year running)
- Eliza Bluma won silver in the -50kg older cadet girls (Gold last year)
Our bronze medalists:
- Lee Gorman won bronze in the +47 younger cadet boys
- Robbie Walsh won bronze in the -57 junior boys
